All students and staff are automatically members of our library. Our building opened on the 2 October 1998, and is a space for staff and students to read, research and learn. Charnwood LRC is also available for Post-16 students at the North Bristol Post-16 Centre.
The library is a peaceful place to allow everyone to work or read without distraction. Students are encouraged to visit the library at break, lunch and after school. The library is a welcoming space where everyone is expected to be polite, kind and treat each other with respect.
The library aims to be a whole school resource, providing materials for all aspects of school work as well as for personal interests and recreational reading. Our library resources include 18,000 books (fiction, non-fiction and reference), magazines, project packs and small collections of DVDs and CDs. We subscribe to a variety of online resources to support teaching and learning. We also run a stationery shop where you can buy paper, pens, calculators, USB pens etc.
The library positively encourages reading for pleasure. If you would like to see a book in the library please speak to the Library Staff.
We are very proud of our two first edition copies of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone which are displayed in a cabinet in the Main Library. They are very rare!
