Gamma started the year with a new sense of focus and enthusiasm which we want to direct towards our fundraising efforts especially. Within our House assembly this week we were visited by Jessica Lear from our endorsed charity- Above and Beyond. Gamma have been raising money for Bristol’s Children’s Hospital with a particular focus on toys to aid recovery, learning and preparation. Jessica told us about toys such as worry monsters (teddies that make children feel at ease with anxiety), Lego labs (reconstructions of surgical rooms) and interactive floor games to help mobility. All of Gamma was fascinated and it was lovely to hear, we were very proud to have raised £1644.00!
Our second focus of the assembly was to promote Cotham manners and reward those students who have 'gone the extra mile.' Whether this is making a positive start to the year, helping out a teacher or being a generally positive student around the school site. The following students were rewarded with a £5.00 amazon gift voucher and we are very proud of them.
Rex and Safron Year 11
Parteet and Linas Year 10
Sami and Soloman Year 9
Natasha, Cassian and Anya Year 8
Siham and Esme Year 7
Next month’s House champion award will go to the student who helps out the most on our coin trail on the 26 September. Please search for any loose change and help us raise even more money for our wonderful charity- Above and Beyond.
