Over the last 10 years the Fund has contributed over £150,000 to the school. Items and activities purchased or contributed to include:
- Hard and soft landscaping within the Rose Garden
- The courtyard canopy, seating and landscaping
- IT equipment and furniture for the library
- Drinking fountains and benches around the school
- Equipment for the new drama studio and sports hall
- Refurbishment of the stage and new curtain
School activities that have been enhanced or made possible by the Fund include:
- Duke of Edinburgh Award, the Rucksack Club and the Ten Tors Expedition by the supply of tents, rucksacks and entry subscriptions
- The Year 7 Charterhouse residential and other school trips
- Years 11-13 writing club
Last term the fund provided over £27,000 for a number of special initiatives requested by different school departments including £4,150 for a new projection system for dance performances, £3,000 for new digital cameras for use by all students and £5,000 for a new laser cutter for the Technology Department.
The Fund also provides an annual allowance of £2,000 for smaller bids from school departments, allocated at the discretion of the Head.
Because the Enrichment Fund is a registered charity we can reclaim the tax from each donation from the Inland Revenue by parent/carers completing a Gift Aid Declaration, providing an additional 22p for every £1 donated, at no extra cost to you. If you are a regular taxpayer, we urge you to complete the declaration, as the additional funds we receive from this source really do make a huge difference.
If you would like to get involved with the Fund as a Trustee or as a co-opted member or have any questions you would like answered please contact us by telephoning the school on 0117 919 8000 and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
