Cotham School Year 9 Pathways Evening Wednesday 15th January 2020
Cotham School welcomed Post 16 Education providers who joined us to provide information and advice at our Mini Careers Fayre for our Year 9 students and parents.
The evening began with presentations to a school hall full of parents, carers and students ready to embark on the first step of their careers journey. The presentation outlined the many pathways available to our Year 9 students, highlighting the full support available to them whilst making their choices.
The Careers team talked to many students, parents and carers directing them to the Careers Fayre where apprenticeship providers, colleges, creative and sporting Post 16 providers including Access Creative, Bristol Rovers Community Trust, Robins Foundation, Onsite, Focus training Group and City of Bristol College were available to talk through student choices and answer the many interesting and valid questions raised.
We were joined by Atkins, Department of Work and Pensions and Allied Health Care to discuss career opportunities for the future.
The Pastoral team chatted with families throughout the evening and received many positive comments on the usefulness of the information provided by the companies and colleges who had kindly joined us at Cotham for the evening. A popular choice was the ‘taster’ day offered by Access Creative.
There will be much more to come from these organisations as we will be inviting speakers in to talk to the students in more detail as their journey gains momentum.
Please contact Cotham School on 0117 9198000 if you have any questions.
