As the winter nights draw in, Classical Bristol brings you another month's worth of heart-warming music. With Christmas just around the corner, take the kids to Colston Hall for the classic animation The Snowman - or have a Christmas extravaganza with the Bristol Ensemble's three-day celebration at St George's Bristol! For a traditional festive evening, Handel's Messiah, or a night of contemplation with the Bristol Bach Choir, is just the thing. If you're not in the mood for the Christmas season, let the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment take you on a journey through the icons of classical music - or stick to revelling in the cinematic splendour of the John Wilson Orchestra. Aside from their exciting musical exploits, Chineke! Orchestra are encouraging children from deprived areas of Bristol to take up music. This week saw them inspiring some of the city's primary schools, as they perfomed world-class music, and discovered the life and music of the 18th century black composer Joseph Boulogne.
