Cotham School

Year 8 Rugby

The boys played their second festival of the season at St Bedes on Tuesday and won two of their four games.

Their first match was against St Beds A who started strongly and flew into a 3 try lead. However, Cotham dug dip and defended with vigor and determination to prevent St Bedes A scoring more tries.

The second match, the team played well beating St Bedes B by 4 tries to 1 with Kyrese Morrison, Kayah Tunnicliffe and Tiye Thomas-Smith (2) scoring the tries.

Cotham's third match was a much closer game with both teams playing good running rugby. Cotham just held on for a 4-3 try win with Kayah (2), Tiye and Walter Penny going over to score.

The last game was against the overall winners Bristol Free School. By this time the boys were tried and lost 4 tries to 0.

Well done to all the boys who worked tremendously hard during all the games and never once let their heads drop when playing stronger opponents. Hopefully there will be another game or festival after half term.
